What’s the difference between powder and crack cocaine?

There is none, but being arrested with a small amount of crack will get you the same sentence as if you had 18 times as much cocaine. This disparity is unjust, nonsensical, and racist. And it must end.

That’s why Dream Corps JUSTICE, the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), and FAMM (Families Against Mandatory Minimums) are working together to end this sentencing gap by supporting the “Eliminating a Quantifiably Unjust Application of the Law” (EQUAL) Act.

The EQUAL Act would end the unjust difference in  penalties for crack and powder cocaine, bringing thousands home from prison sooner and shortening future sentences. With 11 Republican cosponsors in the Senate and bipartisan support in the House, we’re so close to getting this over the finish line – we just need the Senate to pass the bill. We just need your Senators to hear from you!

Let’s end this unfair sentencing discrepancy by ensuring the Senate passes the EQUAL Act now!
