Sandhya grew up in Mill Valley, CA, and earned her B.A. at UC Berkeley with a degree in political science. She worked in corporate and securities litigation at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP before continuing her education, earning her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, with distinction and a focus on intellectual property law. She acted as the Campaign Manager for Jessica Jackson’s first city council race in 2013 and worked on various in house legal teams, and in high-level contacts management several start-ups and tech companies. Following the presidential election in 2016, concerned with the divisive state of US politics, she wanted to shift her path to an area where she could have a bigger impact on society. In 2016, Sandhya joined the #cut50 staff to organize and manage our First National Day of Empathy, launch our Empathy Network, and act as Chief of Staff. in 2019 she transitioned to the role of Senior Operations Manager, overseeing budgeting, contracting, development, and campaign coordination with our National Organizer and other campaign directors.
