Reports to: Development Manager

Status: Part-time - 20-30 hrs/week

Job Summary

The Development Assistant will play an essential role in increasing Dream Corps’ capacity to manage relationships, partnerships, donors and events. Through excellent data management and staff support, the Development Assistant will help grow the fundraising department and the organization.

The Development Assistant reports directly to the Development Manager but will work closely with staff throughout the organization including the CEO and National Directors. At Dream Corps, we take pride in our ability to be nimble, agile and quick. A successful candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented, maintain a high level of emotional intelligence, a sense of humor and a strong work ethic.  

This position is viewed as a training and growth opportunity in the organization. This person will receive opportunities to engage in program work and grow her/his skills in a variety of sectors and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Contact Management

  • Attend trainings for both Salesforce and NationBuilder platforms.

  • Maintain excellent records for our donors and supporters. This includes data entry and upkeep from meetings, phone calls, and strategy meetings. Add new contacts to database as they come in.

  • Manage information for all foundation opportunities inside our database. This includes prospect information, notes from meetings, deadline tracking, and relationship maintenance. Will support communication updates and reports as necessary.

  • Generate and update thank you letters to our supporters, both individual and institutional.

  • Research new prospects and generate prep documents for new donors.

 

Staff & Organizational Support

  • Help Development Manager, Director of External Relations, CEO and President with record keeping and administrative work as needed.

  • Expand fundraising presence for Dream Corps through social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Spotify, Instagram.

  • Support National Directors with logistics, meeting planning & notes, and travel as directed.

  • Take on special projects as needed.
